Cornwall
could never be considered the heart of gay Britain but what it
offers instead is a magnificent coastline, with stunning beaches,
picturesque coastal towns and villages and well as some of the
top holiday destinations such as St Ives and Penzance in the UK.
Given it is the most southern tip of England, the climate is some
of the best in summer.
Tourists
attraction include the obvious Land's
End landmark, St
Michael's Mount in Penzance, the Tate
Gallery in St Ives and The
Eden Project near St Austell. There are also a myriad of local
attractions which your guesthouse or hotel will be able to advise
you off.
As
as bonus if you want to stay in a gay friendly environment check
out some of the holiday hotels and guesthouses listed below.

Description:
Poltair is a family run 11 room hotel in an attractive Edwardian
building. You will always be sure of a friendly welcome & a
bright comfortable room.Quiet location within easy reach of
town & beaches with plentiful street parking.
Built
in the early part of the last century, Poltair is an eleven
bedroom guesthouse set in the centre of three elegant houses.
It is ideally situated in a quiet residential road with easy
street parking, less than 100 yards from the promenade and a
short walk to both Castle Beach & Gyllingvase Beach (1 of
only a few Blue Flag beaches in Cornwall), located on a beautiful
stretch of Falmouth Bay. The building is south-east facing so
the sea view rooms enjoy the sunshire virtually all day. The
panoramic views of Falmouth Bay & Pendennis Castle from
the top floor are believed to be amongst the best in Falmouth.
We
are located within easy reach of Custom House Quay and the Prince
of Wales Pier for boat trips, and it's just a short walk into
Falmouth's town centre where you will find a wide variety of
shops, pubs and restaurants including Rick Stein's fish &
chips (his first venture outside Padstow). There is also a bowling
alley, an art gallery, a new multi screen cinema and the National
Maritime Museum, Falmouth. If you fancy something a bit different
there is even a place where fish will give you a pedicure. In
the summer months you can enjoy nightly entertainment at the
nearby Princess Pavilion (and on most nights during the rest
of the year).
Much
of Cornwall is within easy reach of Falmouth and is an hour
(or less) travel time by car, e.g. Lands End, the Lizard, Minack,
Padstow, Truro, St Ives, Penzance and St Michael's Mount. The
finest gardens are also within easy reach, e.g. Trebah, Heligan,
Glendurgan and the Eden Project. The famous 'all year' Falmouth
climate is one of the warmest in the British Isles and therefore
the area has an abundance of exotic trees and plants. For those
guests who prefer not to drive there is a good bus and rail
service and a variety of interesting boat trips. Map
